About The Piece:
Welcome to a new consortium for bass trombone, tenor voice, and piano! Alex Handley led the consortium, and Hutson Rollins and Ben Dondanville co-wrote the piece. The work uses the text from T.S. Eliot's "The Hollow Men" to create a song cycle with a song for each stanza of the text. The work is dark and brooding in nature, bringing out the unnerving emotions in the original poem.
About The Consortium:
The Lead Commissioner, Alex Handley, has the right to the world premiere performance through May 2025.
Following the world premiere, the rest of the consortium will have until the end of May 2026 to give performances before the work becomes public.
